Description
A challenging stage on unpaved trails with steep and short climbs. You will pass through small villages and coffee plantations in a beautiful surrounding that borders Mount Elgon National Park, home to over 300 bird species. After crossing the main tarmac road in Kapchorwa, a long technical descent follows. The remaining 30 kilometers are on flat wide murram roads where you will enter into the land of the Karamojong, agro-pastoral herders mainly living in the Northeast of Uganda. You will see the landscape change colors as the Karamoja region has a semi-arid climate.
