Tips

If you want to visit the national park you need to have a permit. This can be bought in Kampala at the UWA offices and at the gate with mobile money (no cash!). It can also pay off to call in advance that you want to cycle through the park and need a (required) ranger. Expect tyre punctures because of the many acacia thorns. Make sure to have tubeless tyres or bring a patch kit and several spare tubes.
